MEET YOUR SPEAKERS

Laura Maihofer, BS, CPDT-KA

Laura Maihofer is a Behavior Counselor and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. She has a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Michigan State University. Laura specializes in advanced obedience, reactivity, aggression prevention, and puppy training. Laura takes in-home cases as well as teaching group classes with K9 Turbo Training.

 

As a lifelong learner, Laura is always reading at least one book on Canine Ethology and Training. She believes strongly in the intersection of training and science and has volunteered with the University of Michigan Conceptual Development Lab on a research study focused on whether dogs form emotional attachments to their toys.

 

Laura grew up with dogs, fosters, and has worked as a Professional Dog Trainer since 2015. Her training focuses on relationship building, effective communication, and the power of play. She has a passion for sharing her knowledge of canine behavior and helping dogs and humans live peacefully together.
